Over the last couple of weeks, I have had the awesome opportunity to spend a couple of days with Laurel’s class for a very special event put on by our town’s literacy council.
The Day the Crayons Quit is a children’s book written by Drew Daywalt and illustrated by Oliver Jeffers. It tells a story about Duncan and his box of crayons. Feeling over-worked and under-appreciated by Duncan, the crayons go on strike. Through a series of letters Duncan learns why each crayon has decided to quit. It’s up to Duncan to think outside of the crayon box, be creative, and get his crayons back!
